Rescue Two

Rescue Two is a 1990 International Harvester with a diesel power plant attached to a five-speed transmission.  Before it was a rescue truck, its other life was lived out as a tow truck owned by the local Pearson's Body Shop.  When the owner, Curly Pearson, was considering getting a tow truck to replace this one, he contacted the incumbent Sheriff to see if the program would be interested in a different truck.  At that time, Rescue was ran out of the Sheriff's Department. We were operating out of a converted van with the utility box that you see on this truck. So, after some modifications to the length of the wheelbase, the body shop mounted the utility box and painted the truck in the two tone color scheme of the Indiana Sheriff's Association.

This truck has served us since 1992 in that configuration until January 2008. At which time Huntington County Rescue moved under the control of the Huntington County Commissioners and will continue to serve the county, as Huntington County Rescue has placed this apparatus with the Warren Volunteer Fire Department.  It will be operated by individuals that have been trained in extrication techniques. Rescue Two just went through an extensive over-haul and then received a new coat of paint. Pearson's Body Shop did a body make-over and gave this old truck a new life. Rescue Two is proudly serving the southern part of the county and responding to incidents to assist in saving lives of victims of our community.
